There are many ways to get involved with the Food Bank and make a tangible difference in our communities. Below are the typical activities the Food Bank offers and current opportunities.

Community Garden Volunteer Assist with the planting, maintenance and care of the community gardens. Currently available at our New Bern Branch.
Distribution Center Volunteers Sort products and repackage bulk food; perfect for groups!
Food Drive Organizer Organize a food drive at your office, church or in your community. (Volunteer hours are not currently earned with this opportunity.) More information & signup.
Fundraiser Host a virtual food drive online! Follow a few simple set up screens to create your personal page. Consider making it a team effort and organize a competition between within your company or among your community. (Volunteer hours are not currently earned with this opportunity.) Office Assistant Volunteer Filing, mailings, reception desk support, and clerical duties. Experience with computers is a plus!
Social Media Ambassador Spread the word about hunger using social networks such as twitter, facebook and personal blogs. (Volunteer hours are not currently earned with this opportunity.) More information & signup.
Speakers Bureau Volunteers are trained to become advocates of the Food Bank, attend speaking engagements and other events. More information & signup.
Special Events Volunteer Attend special food and fundraising events, such as Letter Carriers Food Drive and Hunger Relief Day at the State Fair. (Current opportunities will be listed as they become available.)
Truck Driver Volunteer Assist staff with pickups of local donations. An application and 'Authorization for Driving Record Verification' required.
