Students Against Hunger

Did you know that almost 50% of students in our 34 county service area qualify for free or reduced-price lunch?

It is difficult for any student to excel academically when they come to school hungry. So we invite all students, staff, parents and teachers to join our Students Against Hunger food and funds drive to help feed hungry children and their families in our community.

Over the past 14 years, students in our area have donated enough to provide nearly 4.1 million meals.

Join the cause:

Participants in the Students Against Hunger campaign can collect food and funds any time from October through December. Competing schools must deliver their donations to our warehouse by noon on December 6, 2014

Extra incentives:

We know y'all like to support the Food Bank so you can help those less fortunate. But here's a little extra boost for your competitive side! Besides bragging rights, winning teams will receive the following:

  • The school that donates the most food or funds per student in each category (elementary, middle, high school and multi-grades) will be offered a photo opp at the Food Bank which will be shared on our website and social media.
  • Each winning school in each category will also be invited to choose from two additional opportunities: (1) Food Bank representative will visit your school for a special presentation. (2) Send a group (maximum 30 people) to your local Food Bank warehouse for a special tour.

  • The overall winner of the competition will be honored during our annual Heart of Carolina food drive.

Start by registering your food drive today! You will receive all the information you need to ensure your success.

Your help really makes a difference! Thank you for hosting a food drive!
