Facebook Like Campaign Final
Thank You for "Liking" the Food Bank!

With your help, we provided 10,000 meals!

The N.C. Pork Council (NCPC) and The Food Effect website held a month-long campaign to raise awareness about childhood hunger, strengthen the social networks of North Carolina’s seven Feeding America food banks, and raise up to $14,000 in donations for the food banks.

The campaign aimed to simultaneously raise money for each of the state's seven food banks and help them to recruit thousands of additional followers on Facebook. For each new fan who "liked" a food bank on Facebook between November 25 and year's end, the NCPC donatee $2 to that food bank, up to a maximum of $2,000 per agency.

Thanks to you, we met the goal of 1,000 new likes and will receive $2,000 from the North Carolina Port Council!

Peter Werbicki, president and CEO of the Food Bank of CENC, said, "The Food Effect has provided wonderful support for the past several years. We are excited about the increase of our Facebook fan base. We are grateful for the way the pork community has joined us in the fight against childhood hunger."
