Corporate Partnerships

"Find the Fit" with the Food Bank

Find The Fit LogoCorporate partners play a significant role in our ability to support the more than 650,000 people who may need emergency food assistance as they are forced to choose between food, pay rent or get their medicine. Cause marketing and sponsorship opportunities provide a valuable way to promote a company's corporate responsibility, their brand, and can be a great way to engage employees while linking your company with a 4-star Charity Navigator rated hunger-relief organization.

Finding the Fit happens when the philanthropic and marketing objectives of a potential partner can be met by supporting the Food Bank. This can be accomplished in many ways including:

  • Financial Support (Unrestricted or Restricted/Program Specific)
  • Sponsorships - including Kids Cafe, Weekend PowerPack, the ABC11 Heart of Carolina holiday campaign, the News & Observer Feed the Need campaign, Rolling Billboard Truck Wraps
  • Employee and client engagement events such as the Sort-A-Rama Day of Service
  • Cause Marketing or Percentage of Sales Campaigns
  • Employee Giving Campaigns
  • Matching Corporate Gifts (leverage employee gifts)
  • Grants and Foundation gifts
  • In-Kind Donations

The Food Bank features a rotation of high-profile cause marketing and special event sponsorship opportunities. Our current initiatives include:

Stop Summer Hunger Campaign Initiative, June 1 - July 31, 2016

Summer for 300,000 children in the Food Bank's 34-county service area doesn't mean going to camp or to the pool. It means that they won't be at school and will lose access to the free and reduced-cost breakfast or lunch. To support those children and their families, the Food Bank has created the Stop Summer Hunger Campaign.

Chef's Feast of Summertime Memories raises $112,000/560,000 meals – THANK YOU!

Screen Shot 2016-08-08 at 2.36.50 PM.png

Chef's Feast promised to deliver an exciting evening of culinary learning and delicious food inspired by the Summertime Memories of our participating chefs AND IT DID. Chef Vivian Howard (Chef & the Farmer), Chef Walter Royal (Angus Barn) and Chef Eric Gephart (Kamado Grille) prepared, demonstrated, and served favorite summer recipes through three courses to an appreciative audience of corporate representative and philanthropists.

Presenting Sponsors Kroger and Kamado Grill led the way to inspire others to generosity through lively bidding on live auction items and raffle ticket purchases that led to thousands of meals and children with happy summer memories instead of empty bellies.

Check out the Chef’s Feast Program to salute all the amazing corporate and business partners who made this dream a reality.

And to get the flavor of the evening through photos

We’d love to see you there next time. Stay tuned to see the 2017 event date and make plans to attend!

Giving Tuesday Challenge Partnership, November 29, 2016

Giving Tuesday follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday as a growing opportunity for holiday philanthropy. In 2015, the Food Bank launched a $20K challenge match to the public. We raised $47,000 - a 58% increase over the prior year when we did not have a challenge. This year, we are offering more partner opportunities and aim to offer a $50,000 to the public.

  1. Join as a Challenge Partner - Challenge/match gifts are the single most influential call to action for donors and have a significant impact on increasing revenue. Your partnership includes significant digital and traditional media visibility and opportunities for employee volunteer engagement.

Employee Teambuilding/Client Engagement Opportunties

Several of the Food Bank’s sponsorships and campaigns provide excellent employee teambuilding and client engagement opportunities. Volunteer service with the Food Bank not only can build employee morale and teamwork, but also reinforces the company’s philanthropic commitment to the community. It can also provide an opportunity to engage with clients/customers in the accomplishment of service for those less fortunate.

Sort-A-Rama Day of Service - May 25, 2017
Sort-A-Rama is one of the largest corporate volunteer service gatherings for area companies to bring up to 1,000 employees/customers together to "sort" pasta, rice, and beans into family-sized portions. Companies participate in this event as part of employee or client engagement activities that results in a significant cross-companies team-building opportunity. Join Presenting Partners BASF, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, Cisco, and Food Lion and other Triangle companies to sort the equivalent of 150,000 meals for distribution to those in need. Learn more about sponsorship levels and benefits »
