The Durham Branch of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina serves six counties in central North Carolina. They are Chatham, Durham, Granville, Orange, Person and Vance counties.

Last year over 6.2 million pounds of food was distributed to 172 agencies in those counties. The Food Bank at Durham operates 2 trucks that traveled over 40,652 miles last year. Volunteers donated over 16,605 hours of their time last year, equivalent to over 7 full-time employees

In the counties served by the Durham branch, over 96,000 individuals are at risk of hunger: 30,000 are children and over 6% are 65 years and over.

#FoodBank24: A New Media Telethon
September 26-27, 2014
The date for the third annual 24-Hour Telethon (now named #FoodBank24) has been set for Friday, September 26 starting at 12 noon and airing through September 27 at noon. The Food Bank and Gregory Ng of Freezer Burns are coming together once again to raise food, funds, and awareness as part of the national Hunger Action Month movement. Learn more at foodbank24.org.

World Beer Festival
