FINAL RESULTS ARE IN!
We've tallied the final results of the Hunger Action Month 24-Hour Telethon 2013 and are delighted to report...
A total of $55,648 donated and 3,941 pounds of food collected!
In a marathon of back to back activities, events, and interviews, the 24-Hour Telethon was a race to the finish. With only 3 minutes to spare on Saturday, September 14, the final donation of $700.00 was pledged by one of our patrons, JeremySaid, through twitter, shooting us to the goal of $50,000. A flurry of additional donations were made immediately following the finale.
We are deeply grateful to all of our incredibly generous and compassionate supporters (see below.) Special thanks to our host Gregory Ng of FreezerBurns, producer Mike Adams, and all of our patrons, partners, event donors and volunteers for making this event a phenomenal success.
Over the next several weeks, thousands of children, families and seniors will have daily meals on the table and groceries in their pantries, thanks to you.
Through this tremendous effort, the Food Bank will be able to provide over 278,000 meals! Together, we can continue our mission to ensure that no one goes hungry in central & eastern North Carolina.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR AMAZING SUPPORT!
