The Biggest Loser's Pound for Pound Challenge Through June 10, 2010 Lose Nationally, Feed Locally! For the second consecutive year, Feeding America will partner with General Mills, Subway, 24 Hour Fitness, Walgreens, and The Biggest Loser to encourage Americans to lose weight through the Pound for Pound Challenge. The Biggest Loser is a reality show that challenges and encourages overweight contestants to shed pounds in a safe manner through diet and exercise. For every pound you pledge to lose, The Biggest Loser will donate 14 cents to Feeding America to benefit local food banks across the nation, including the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC. The program is available from now until June 10, 2010. Learn more and register today!
 Measures of Faith Food and Funds Drive March 1-April 30, 2010 Measures of Faith is a community-wide initiative for congregations of all faiths to come together and help stock the shelves of the Food Bank for our neighbors in need. Encourage your congregation to participate: hold a food & funds drive, request a speaker or volunteer. Learn more about this important initiative.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade Saturday, March 13, 2010 Please join us at the 28th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 13, 2009 in downtown Raleigh. The parade begins at 12:00 noon from the corner of Wilmington and Lenoir Streets. Look for our Food Bank truck and volunteers who will be collecing food donations during the procession. Our goal this year is 2,500 pounds! Bring the kids, friends and family and be a part of this wonderful event steeped in local tradition! NCSSM World Record Food Drive Saturday, March 20, 2009 The NC School of Science & Math in Durham aims to break the Guinness World Record by collecting more than a half million pounds of non-perishable food in 24 hours at one location. Triangle British Car Show & Food Drive May 15, 2010 Join classic car enthusiasts from throughout North Carolina for the 14th Annual Triangle British Classic Car Show at North Hills Mall in Raleigh from 8:30 am to 3 pm. The event features regalia items, raffle prized & entertainment. Admission is free to spectators. Proceeds from the show benefit the Food Bank and canned food donations are strongly encouraged! Tickets For Charity! Tickets-for-Charity gives sports and music fans an easy and convenient way to support local food banks while gaining access to great tickets not available anywhere else.
