Hunger Relief Day at the NC State Fair 2009
Hunger Relief Day at the NC State Fair was a tremendous success! Not only was there record attendance, but we exceeded our food collection goal! A total of 237,534 pounds was collected, an increase of more than 71,000 pounds from a year ago! Thanks so much to our 400+ volunteers and all the fairgoers who so generously donated!

Cheesecake Factory Bus Tour 2009
Thanks to everyone who joined us for the Cheesecake Factory's Drive Out Hunger Tour food drive at Southpoint Mall in Durham. The music by Tamar Kaprelian was lovely, Stefanie's Ultimate Red Velvet Cheesecake was delicious and the Cheesecake Factory staff were terrific hosts. Despite the rain, we had a great time and collected 574 pounds of food!

Meatball Carnival, Raleigh
Meatballs on the table, meatballs on the floor, meatballs rolling out the door! The Meatball Carnival at North Hills in Raleigh celebrated the opening of "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" on Sept 19. Kids enjoyed the Spagehetti Twist, the Meatball Dive and the Meatball Toss and won fantastic prizes!

Meatball Carnival, Wilmington
Meatballs were everywhere at the Meatball Carnival celebrating the release of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in Wilmington on September 19. The kids had a great time "Diving for Meatballs." Special thanks to Kidsville News mascot Truman, UNCW mascot Sammy the Seahawk, the Wilmington Hammerheads mascot Sledge and, most especially, Regal Cinemas!

Wilmington CANstruction 2009
Thanks to all the teams that participated in the Wilmington CANstruction 2009 event at Independence Mall! We are grateful to Society of American Military Engineers, proVision Architecture, Woods Engineering, WK Dickson, LS3P Associates LTD, B & O Design Studio, ILM Design Build, Big Sky Design, Commercial Interior Resources and Monteith Construction for garnering over 10,000 pounds of food!
