The Wilmington Branch of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina serves 4 counties in southeastern North Carolina. They are Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover and Pender counties.
Last year over 5.5 million pounds of food was distributed to over 101 agencies in those counties. The Food Bank at Wilmington operates 1 truck that traveled over 8,500 miles last year. Volunteers donated over 3,542 hours of their time last year. This is equivalent to almost 2 full-time employee.
In the counties served by the Wilmington branch, over 69,000 individuals are at risk of hunger; over 20,000 are children and 7% are 65 years and over.

5 Million Pound Milestone The Food Bank at Wilmington tipped the scales on June 12, 2012, and for the first time will distribute over 5 million pounds in one year! Distribution to the Wilmington Branch service area of has been on the rise for the last several years. In fiscal year 2010-11, the Wilmington Food Bank distributed more than 4.8 million pounds and in 2009-10 more than 4.7 million pounds. Read More »
Iron Skillet Chef Cook Off The Food Bank at Wilmington held its first ever Iron Skillet Chef Cook Off on October 30. Participants included Chef Keith Rhodes of Catch and Phun, Kirstin Mitchell of Cameo 1900, Steve Harrington of Deluxe, James Doss of Rx Restaurant and Bar, and Ryan Andress and John-Mike Rehm with UNCW.
