Welcome to the Sandhills Branch Home Page!
The Sandhills Branch of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina serves 3 counties in south central North Carolina. They are Moore, Richmond and Scotland counties. One county served is shared with the Raleigh Branch, Lee county.
Last year over 4 million pounds of food was distributed to 104 agencies in those counties.
Volunteers donated over 3,000 hours of their time last year. This is equivalent to approximately 1.5 full-time employees!
The Sandhills Branch supports 4 Kids Cafe programs and 2 Back Pack programs. In the past year the Kids Cafe programs served more than 42,000 meals and more than 20,000 backpacks were distributed to children in the counties served by the Sandhills Branch.
The Sandhills warehouse is 12,500 square feet and has the capacity to store over 225 pallets in dry storage and 44 pallets of refrigerated/frozen food.
