The Durham Branch of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina serves six counties in central North Carolina. They are Chatham, Durham, Granville, Orange, Person and Vance counties.
Last year over 6.2 million pounds of food was distributed to 172 agencies in those counties. The Food Bank at Durham operates 2 trucks that traveled over 40,652 miles last year. Volunteers donated over 16,605 hours of their time last year, equivalent to over 7 full-time employees
In the counties served by the Durham branch, over 96,000 individuals are at risk of hunger: 30,000 are children and over 6% are 65 years and over.

Turkeys for DURM October 22-November 22, 2013 Help feed a family in Durham this Thanksgiving. Until November 19th, donations will be collected to purchase frozen turkeys. On Friday, November 22nd, community members and volunteers will use collected funds to purchase turkeys and then deliver them to the Food Bank. Turkeys for DURM hopes to donate 100 turkeys to Durham families. More details at turkeysfordurm.com.
