Welcome to the Durham Branch Home Page!
The Durham Branch of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina serves 6 counties in central North Carolina. They are Chatham, Durham, Granville, Orange, Person and Vance counties.
Last year over 5.3 million pounds of food was distributed to 160 agencies in those counties.
Volunteers donated nearly 17,000 hours of their time last year. This is equivalent to approximately 8 full-time employees!!
The Durham Branch supports 4 Kids Cafe and 3 Backpack programs. In the past year the Kids Cafe program served more than 16,700 meals and more than 2,400 backpacks were distributed to children in the counties served by the Durham Branch.
The Durham warehouse is 18,500 square feet and has the capacity to store over 216 pallets for dry storage and 22 pallets for refrigerated/frozen food.

In September of 2008, the Durham Branch reached its 30 million pound milestone! Click here to see a video of the 30 millionth pound going out the door! Congratulations to supplying Chatham, Durham, Granville, Orange, Person and Vance counties with 30 million pounds of food since 1999.
