Lowes Foods Bag Childhood Hunger June 3-30, 2009 Nearly 13 million children in our nation are living in poverty and are at risk of hunger, including 1 in 5 children in the Carolinas. 51% of the year, 185 days, school is not in session and these low-income children are without access to the free or reduced priced meals they receive during the school year. In order to restock our local Food Banks for the summer months, when more children are at risk, Lowes Foods is holding our annual Bag Childhood Hunger Food Drive. Purchase bags of food for $5.24 bag or $6.17 and place in food bins or donate $1 or $5 at checkout at all Lowes Foods locations. For more info, see: http://www.lowesfoods.com
