School's Out, But Hunger Isn't
Join us for Stop Summer Hunger!
Nearly 300,000 children in our 34 counties are in the free and reduced-cost breakfast and lunch programs at school. For them, summertime doesn't mean a fun filled vacation; for them, no school means no meals.
Stop Summer Hunger is a community-wide food and funds drive held during June and July to provide the additional food needed to support these children and their families, as well as supporting our kids summer meals programs. The campaign helps the Food Bank put food on the table for nearly 300,000 local children through our branches in Durham, Greenville, New Bern, Sandhills and Wilmington during the summer months when our donations tend to slow down and our resources are scarce.
Join us for the kickoff of Stop Summer Hunger on May 31 at The Streets at Southpoint! Check out the can structure made by Cisco and bring your cans for the"Drive, Drop & Go" food drive from 10 am to 2 pm on Main Street next to Champps.
