As part of Hunger Action Month, we are featuring a unique and unusual historical fact about our organization each day for 30 days in September on Twitter. 1.  For every dollar donated, the Food Bank can distribute $10 worth of food or 5 meals.

27.  This year we distributed 154 new refrigerators & freezers to partner agencies to improve agency capacity.
28.  The Food Bank’s Social Media Ambassadors Volunteer Program started in 2011 and has over 30 members.
29.  This year our Stop Summer Hunger campaign provided just over 3 million meals to children.
30.  This year our 24-Hour Telethon raised $55,648 or 278,000 meals. That's more than double from last year!
