Celebrate What's Great about the NC State Fair:
Food Lion Hunger Relief Day!

NC State Fair LogoTomorrow marks an exciting day for us here at the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC: Food Lion Hunger Relief Day at the NC State Fair! Some know this as "Can Day": bring 4 cans of food and get free admission to the NC State Fair.

Hunger Relief Day is one of the largest one-day food drives in the state of North Carolina. Since its inception 15 years ago, fairgoers have donated more than two million pounds of food to help those suffering from hunger in our communities.

This year, we're hoping to raise more than 200,000 pounds of food, so we're encouraging everyone to bring an extra can. But we are also aware that many folks have full-time jobs and just can't get away for this remarkable event in the middle of the week.

Therefore, the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC is offering a way to donate "virtually" - right from your computer! Now you can contribute through our Food Lion Hunger Relief Day Virtual Food Drive.

A donation of $10 will provide enough food for 8 school children to have breakfast for one week... $20 will provide dinner to a family of four for over 3 weeks... Every dollar donated provides 4 meals to those in our communities.

Help us Celebrate What's Great:
providing meals so that no one goes hungry in our communities!
