September is #HungerActionMonth — a nationwide initiative designed to inspire people to take action and raise awareness to help people experiencing the impossible choices of hunger. All month, people across the country will be taking action against hunger to help families faced with impossible choices, like buying groceries or paying rent. Food shouldn’t be an impossible choice for our friends and neighbors.

We’re on a mission to get 30 new monthly donors in 30 days.

During this year’s Hunger Action Month, we’re on a mission to get 30 new monthly donors. As a monthly donor, you’ll know you are making a difference every day — ensuring that we can be more resilient together.

Approximately 11% of individuals (or 1 in 9) are facing food insecurity in our 34
counties. A daily meal isn’t a choice between different dishes for our friends and neighbors. It’s a choice between food and other crucial needs—like medicine, electricity, or childcare. Families are still experiencing the impact of extreme inflation in the cost of goods and services and are finding themselves in urgent need of hunger relief services. The food pantries and soup kitchens the Food Bank partners with, and the federal nutrition programs the Food Bank helps connect people with have all seen staggering increases in the number of people needing support.

This September, we’re asking those who can come together to provide the consistency and trust needed by the people we serve by becoming monthly sustaining donors. We’re so thankful for the trust our donors place in us. This #HungerActionMonth, we are asking for your support by becoming a sustainer for the Food Bank.

You can also take action by checking out our 30 Ways in 30 Days calendar below. It has 30 easy actions you can take each day of September to help the Food Bank eliminate these impossible choices for our friends and neighbors.
